Literacy Begins at Birth
The Rotary's goal for the Imagination Library is to provide free books each month to every child within the boundaries of the Stanwood-Camano School District, from birth until their fifth birthday. In five short years, each child entering school could have a personal library of 60 high-quality books that have been carefully selected to be both challenging and appropriate for their age. These books provide resources for parents to spend time reading to their children and promote early childhood reading and thus, promote literacy and readiness for entering school. Each year the cost of providing these books is over $18,000. Our funding goal for Giving Tuesday is $3,000.
