The Camano Center’s Mission is to connect, enrich and support our community. This is done through providing vital resources and programming for community members both on and offsite.
Camano Center has been working closely with Island Senior Resources and the state and county health officials, in our response to the changing COVID-19 situation. Because of the vulnerable populations we serve, out of an abundance of caution, and a desire to protect the health of everyone in our community we have made the following decisions:
Camano Center is closed as of Thursday, March 12th, until further notice. This includes all activities and events. Individuals and sponsors will be contacted in regards to trips and events reschedules or refunds.
- Camano Center’s on site meal program (Mon-Wed-Fri) is closed. Other services which have been suspended include all social activities, AARP tax help, SHIBA help, field trips, foot clinic, adult day and respite care, medical equipment lending, charter buses, all events and fundraisers, catering and building rentals. The 2nd Chance Thrift Shop has also been closed, which accounts for 40% of operating income.
- Meals on Wheels will continue to deliver to current clients. For those needing to sign up for Meals to be delivered, please call 360-321-1600.
- Ongoing services include delivering food and prescriptions to homes, providing meals for pick up, outreach calls to vulnerable people, connecting daily by phone with isolated groups.
Estimated lost revenue through March 31st is $39,115. If the closure continues beyond March, the estimated financial shortfall will be $64,500 per month.
