Park Maintenance and Gateway Building Restoration
In 2007, a group of 1,000 volunteers built a 12,000 square foot playground in 5 days and called it Freedom Park. This park is loved and used by kids of all ages. Freedom Park is built on donated land rather than public or county-owned land and as such is subject to taxes and ongoing maintenance and repair costs which average over $15,000 per year. This fall we have begun repair to the failing stained glass on the Gateway Building an iconic landmark. Financial donations to the park and the kindness of volunteers are the only means available to cover the increasing cost and maintenance such as mowing and playground repairs. The park was built by the community - for the community - now we need your help to make sure that vision can continue.
