High deductibles and co-pays can be a financial barrier for families in our Early Supports program. To counteract this and address a family’s limitations, Sherwood offers hardship applications so a child’s therapy sessions can continue at the recommended level and achieve the best outcomes. Funds from SC Give donors will allow children with disabilities equal access to critical therapies by covering the cost of co-pays and deductibles.
With rising rates of inflation, and the increased cost of living, some families have to choose between accessing life changing services or providing basic needs, including food, for their family. Last year, Sherwood provided 47 families with discounted or no-cost services, totaling almost $30,000.
