Grow Our Learning Garden
Studies show digging in the dirt really does make people happier, decreasing anxiety and improving moods in children and adults that spend time in the garden. The CRC Garden Patch has been a wonderful provider of produce and flowers for several years. Fruit and vegetables are harvested from the garden patch for teen program meals and participants in Little Sprouts Garden Club (new in 2023).
With funds raised from Giving Tuesday, the CRC will update the garden beds and enclose it with a fence, arbor, and gate, making the garden a safer space for little ones during early learning programs. The garden beds are several years old and deteriorating, exposing sharp screws and nails which are unsafe for everyone. This garden refresh will benefit all that come to the Community Resource Center whether they are participating in a CRC program or simply walking by and enjoying the beauty and wildlife in it.
