The Feeding America “Map the Meal Gap” tool estimates 1 in 8 children are food insecure in Snohomish County and roughly 1 in 6 children struggle with food insecurity in Island County. Food insecurity can impact focus, making it difficult for children to learn in school.

Stanwood Camano Food Bank Services delivers over 300 parcels of healthy, shelf-stable foods to students in all elementary, middle and high schools, as well as two local preschools and the Bus Barn. The Meals ‘til Monday program provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal items to take home on weekends since other resources are not available, helping curb day-to-day hunger that distracts from a student's ability to engage and learn.
